Adrian Peterson, on the
, spoke out about a
story run in the Minneapolis Star Tribune yesterday
. After the newspaper called his charity out as being essentially a front for sexual misconduct and debauchery, Adrian Peterson took a stand. Based upon his tweets, it looks like he may have a point.
With a decent amount to say, Adrian Peterson had to write his comments through a note in which he posted to his Twitter account, it read:
Taking a look at his sentiments noted in the above tweets, you have to question the journalistic integrity of the Star Tribune for running the story. With the events in question having taken place over two years ago now, there has to have been more than enough resources to have gotten the story right, something they seemingly decided to overlook.
Adrian Peterson addresses each point that was incorrectly made in the story run by the local paper, and informs that ESPN dug into each of the allegations further to make sure that things were correct. If ESPN, a national level outlet, was able to find further information, it would stand to reason that the local Star Tribune would have the same access. Considering Adrian Peterson refuted the allegations brought against him and his foundation, while making himself vulnerable by acknowledging having to turn from his past, it’s hard to overlook his comments. As Adrian Peterson first had his name brought up in the news in connection with his child abuse case, the dirt has not stopped flowing in. With such an attack on him from a paper that backs his current employer, it would all but seem to signify that the state of Minnesota has finally turned on their former star as well. While the charges being brought against him are without a doubt serious, the pile on that has ensued could have never been expected, and at times, seems even unwarranted.
