Today, Adrian Peterson stepped into a courtroom for the first time to address his child abuse allegations. While some suggested that Peterson may enter a plea bargain, a trial looks to be the way that the star NFL running back and Rusty Hardin have decided to go. That trial will take place in December.

As the court room was filled with inmates and criminals, Adrian Peterson sat across the aisle in a gray suit, white shirt, and black tie. As Rusty Hardin stepped to the judges stand, the tension was more than apparent.
Hardin pleaded heavily for a trial date of November 18, the week before Thanksgiving. However, the judge mentioned that Peterson needs to follow court process and that two inmates have two-year anniversaries coming up that week and need to be dealt with.
Peterson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, tried to get Peterson on the schedule for the week of November 18, and should one of the trials fall through, he would be next in line. However, with December being a slower month for the courts, December 1st provided an opening.
Reporter Rochelle Olson did an excellent job covering the proceedings as they took place, along with the live feed that the Star Tribune offered for onlookers.
Olson concluded Hardin walking away from the stand with the important details of the trial date:
AP trial appears to be set for Dec. 1 pending result of prosecution recusal request for the judge who called the lawyers media whores.

With a trial date set for December 1st, the former Minnesota Vikings star running back looks like his season has all but come to an end, and likely his Vikings career as well. Now Peterson joins former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez as superstar NFL players awaiting their chance at innocence.
