Adrian Peterson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, addresses Adrian Peterson’s situation

Adrian Peterson was arraigned to court today for the first time since he was indicted on child abuse charges earlier this summer. Upon finding out that his case would be somewhat fast tracked for trial, Adrian Peterson is clinging to hope that he may still play this season. His lawyer, Rusty Hardin, spoke about the matter with media following their time in the court room.

Much of Hardin’s sentiments remained the same as they were prior to Adrian Peterson stepping foot in the court room today, calling his client a “good man” and saying that he “dearly loves his children.” Hardin has continued to state that there are two sides to every story and that a quick and fair trial is the way in which things will be sorted out.

Adrian Peterson  made no comments either in the court room or to media following the event. Hardin did mention that Adrian Peterson is very excited and “chomping at the bit” to publicly defend himself, but that must be saved for trial.

At this point, Adrian Peterson  is set to stand trial on December 1. However, Hardin notes that is not set in stone due to some uncertainty as to which judge will preside over the case.

Both the prosecution and defense looked to have the presiding judge reassigned today as the comments that both parties had become “media whores” obviously didn’t sit well with either side.

Look for Rusty Hardin to continue to work on his case, and continue to build up Adrian Peterson for a successful trial. Hardin worked with Roger Clemens and members of the Enron corporation previously, and is well known as being very good at his job and serving his clients.

This story is far from over, and Adrian Peterson’s future with not only the Minnesota Vikings but the NFL as a whole hangs in the balance.
