Knowshon Moreno said just a week ago that he was at least four weeks away from a return, but it appears that was a modest projection. He’s already practicing following the bye week and it appears he could play as soon as this week for the Miami Dolphins when they host the Green Bay Packers.

Moreno returned to practice on Monday wearing a large elbow brace. He suffered an injury to that elbow on his first rush in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. Now it appears that the brace will allow Moreno to at least get in some preliminary runs. From there, it will be up to the coaching staff to decide Moreno’s playing status.
“I think it’s just a matter of him getting used to playing with it in practice,” coach Joe Philbin said, via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “He’s got to get a feel of it and carrying the ball with it, pass protection. Obviously we just can’t have him in there when we are running the ball or free release him all the time. Those are things we take the practice week to figure out.”
At 2-2, the Dolphins are hoping to feed the vulnerable Green Bay Packers with a heavy dose of the running game to control the ball and keep Aaron Rodgers off the field. While Lamar Miller has been a capable runner in Moreno’s stead, it is undoubtedly heartening to a Dolphins offense that is getting healthier with the return of Mike Pouncey on the offensive line to know one of its veteran skill players will soon return.
