More from Miami Heat

Before the Miami Heat knew who would be returning and he would be leaving, president Pat Riley targeted a couple of veteran forwards, landing both of them. The Heat agreed to deals with former Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers (kind of) and Los Angeles Clippers’ forward Danny Granger and former Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Bobcats (Hornets) and Orlando Magic forward Josh McRoberts.

Josh McRoberts is coming off of a career season and with James leaving the Heat to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, his four-year, $22.6 million deal becomes even more important.

Josh McRoberts is a very versatile players and Steve Clifford did an excellent job with him last season. Being in the same division with Charlotte, Erik Spoelstra certainly took notice. Cody Taylor of Basketball Insiders believes Clifford “used McRoberts’ strengths in athleticism, passing and shooting to his advantage and McRoberts had his most productive season as a result” and he expects Spoelstra to do much of the same.

Expect the 27-year old Josh McRoberts to have another solid season.

Josh McRoberts averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game this season while shooting 43.6% from the floor, 36.1% from beyond the arc and 72.9% from the free throw line. He’s averaged 5.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 47.6% from the field, 34.2% from three and 72.9% from the charity stripe in his career.
