It seems that the Montreal Canadiens are ready to see what their veteran netminder can do tonight, as they have him as the team’s clear starter tonight.

The team’s final roster looks much like you would expect it to. The Canadiens are doing about as well as you’d expect them to on opening night, as well- the Atlantic Division team is up 1-0 with the game just minutes in.

The team’s success cannot just be contributed to the players, though- Price seems to be completely recovered from his disastrous collision during the playoffs this year, as the Canadiens are being outshot 6-3 with ten minutes left in the first period. The Maple Leafs are clearly attempting to get ahead with an onslaught on Price’s net- but it looks like the number one netminder is doing his job to perfection.

On the other side of the ice, the Maple Leafs are opening the season with their own veteran netminder, Jonathan Bernier. Both teams have a clear backup sitting rinkside, as both Dustin Tokarski and James Reimer are in full pads and ready to take over should they need to.

This game, hopefully, will restore any lost faith Canadiens fans had in Price with his injury over the summer- and hopefully, the team will get a taste of having Tokarski as a clear number-two backup in the wake of Peter Budaj’s departure before too long.
