The NHL officially returns on Wednesday night with four games.
The Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins will drop the puck at the T.D. Garden in Boston, Massachusetts at 7:30 pm EST.
The Bruins had the best record in the NHL last year – they won 54 games and finished with 117 points, 16 more than the second-best team in the East (Tampa Bay Lightning). However, the Bruins blew a 3-2 series lead to the hated Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the playoffs. The Flyers finished with 94 points and got into the postseason but lost to the New York Rangers in seven games.
Both teams made a few changes, very major ones in the case of the Bruins. They Jarome Iginla to the Colorado Avalanche in free agency. Iginla had 30 goals and 31 assists for the Bruins last season. Earlier this week, they dealt defenceman Johnny Boychuk to the New York Islanders for draft picks.
The Bruins will still be led by two of the best players in the league at their positions, Tuukka Rask and Patrice Bergeron while Claude Giroux remains the star for the Flyers.
