The Philadelphia Flyers are about as healthy as they can be for tonight’s season opener.

The only players sitting on the team’s injured list right now are Kimmo Timonen, Chris Pronger, and Ryan White. Of course, the team is in a whole bucket of hot water for Chris Pronger’s potential new position with NHL Player Safety, but that will have little to do with the team tonight.

The two players who fans were most concerned about appearing tonight, of course, were captain Claude Giroux and alternate captain Wayne Simmonds. Both players have missed multiple practices and games during the pre-season with various injuries, and it was unclear until very recently as to whether or not Simmonds would be included in the team’s healthy roster.

Earlier in the week, Simmonds skated in full practices with the team, insisting that the only way to guarantee preparedness for game play is to attend practices as soon as possible. Seems like it paid off, since the power forward will be on the on the ice with the team tonight- skating as a top six forward, nonetheless.

This could hurt the Boston Bruins’ chances for starting off the season strong, as their own top-line center David Krejci has been announced as on the injured list for the game tonight.

The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. tonight, and will be aired on NBCSN.
