It wasn’t unexpected, but the Baltimore Orioles confirmed that Chris Davis, currently serving a 25-game suspension, won’t be on the Orioles ALCS roster, but the World Series remains a possibility if the team advances.

Davis was
in mid-September, and playoff games do count towards his suspension. Still, it wouldn’t have been smart for the Orioles to play short-handed against the Kansas City Royals in the ALCS in the hopes that there would even be a Game Six or Seven to use Davis in; Davis can play in the World Series if the team was to advance that far, and as he’s been taking
at the ballpark in the meantime, he should be good to go for the roster if it happens.
Davis has struggled this season for the Orioles, hitting .196 with a .300 on base percentage, but he has big-time power, and hit 26 home runs this year. Davis has said he isn’t talking publicly until after his suspension is lifted, so don’t expect to hear too much from him until the World Series, if Baltimore can beat the Royals.
