Veteran big man Carlos Boozer had a rough 2013-2014 season and after years of speculation, the Chicago Bulls finally used the amnesty clause to waive him. The Los Angeles Lakers won the waiver claim for Carlos Boozer and he is looking to revitalize his career in Los Angeles.
“Chicago’s in the rear view, they’re off and running, we’re off and running, so that’s all behind us,” Boozer said following practice on Wednesday at the Lakers’ facility in El Segundo via Insider the Lakers. “But moving forward, I just love what I’m doing here in LA.”
Carlos Boozer is very happy with his veteran back court, Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.
“Obviously Kobe can score. He does that like breathing. But he also does a good job of drawing the defense in and setting us up for jump shots,” Boozer said. “Steve is amazing man. He’s really good, man. I really enjoy playing with Steve. It makes the game really easy, great vision, great decision making, his efficiency’s gotta be through the roof because he knocks down open shots. But he makes us all better too. It’s like he creates a shot for you so all you have to do is shoot it. He does all your work for you so all you’ve got to do is shoot it.”
Carlos Boozer averaged 13.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 45.6% from the field and 76.7% from the free throw line last season. In his career, he has put up 16.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 52.3% from the floor and 72.7% from the charity strip. He has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz and Bulls.
