Miami Dolphins vs Green Bay Packers

With both teams coming off dominant performances in their last outing, the Miami Dolphins (2-2, 1-1 home) and Green Bay Packers (3-2, 1-2 away) will see which one of them can keep the good times rolling Sunday at Sun Life Stadium. While a lot of the story lines leading up to this game have involved Aaron Rodgers and his former offensive coordinator and now Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, this game will be largely impacted by the running backs. For the Packers, Eddie Lacy is coming off his best game of the season after rushing 13 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings last week. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are expected to get Knowshon Moreno back, who carried the team to an opening-game win over the Patriots but has been sidelined with an elbow injury since Week 2.

Keys to Victory

The Dolphins, headed by Lamar Miller and Moreno, rank fifth in the NFL in rushing yards per game while the Packers have the league’s worst-ranked run defense, giving up 163 yards per game on the ground. The Dolphins will want to run, especially with Moreno back, and the Packers will have to stop them. Philbin knows as well as anyone what Rodgers can do with the ball in his hands, so expect Miami to try to win the time of possession with a heavy dose of handoffs.

Prediction

The Packers continue to get the love from Vegas despite their disappointing start to the season, but the Dolphins matchup well here. Even though defensive end Derrick Shelby won’t be playing due to an arrest, Miami will throw a steady pass rush from Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon at Rodgers. The Dolphins will get a good return game from Moreno and Miller will continue to play well during his breakout season.

Final Score: Miami Dolphins 24, Green Bay Packers 20
