With guard Lance Stephenson now with the Charlotte Hornets and swingman Paul George likely out for the season, there has been a lot of speculation the Indiana Pacers may start over.

That would mean dealing off their veterans like center Roy Hibbert and power forward David West and playing for a lottery pick. They could then build around that pick and George when he returns from injury.

Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders believes the Pacers could trade Roy Hibbert but he’s going to have to up his value first.

"I think it all depends on how Roy plays. Right now, his trade value is low so they wouldn’t be able to get much back, as you said. There were rumors that they tried to move him this summer, but that they couldn’t find a taker who was willing to part with a significant piece. With that said, if Hibbert comes out and looks like a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and All-Star again, he could attract some teams and increase his trade value before the deadline."

Roy Hibbert has always struggled offensively and on the glass so he needs work there. Of course, defense is where his bread is buttered and he needs to once become a big-time player on that end.

Last season, Hibbert averaged 10.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 43.9% from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc and 77.0% from the free throw line. Over his career, he’s put up 11.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 4.7% from the floor, 30.0% from three and 73.7% from the charity stripe.
