Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans are primed for a division rival game this coming Sunday at LP Field, and both teams are desperately needing a win. Jacksonville is currently sitting at 0-5 and are entering yet another week under rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, while the Titans are 1-4 and are unsure of the status of starting quarterback Jake Locker. Both teams have major question marks, but both teams must come through if they want any chance to rebound their season.

It’s going to be a very intriguing game to keep an eye on, mainly because it’s possible that two rookie quarterbacks could see action going against each other. Bortles and Zach Mettenberger might get the chance to play against each other, but it’s also possible that Charlie Whitehurst could take the majority of the snaps for Tennessee. Either way, this game could be a close game against two teams that are clawing for a victory.

Keys to Victory

The Jaguars have to come out hot with Bortles as their starter, and they need to get him established early and often. Tennessee doesn’t have the best defense out there, and he can put up some numbers with both his arms and legs. Jacksonville also has to established the ground game somehow, and their defense needs to make some plays.

As for the Titans, they need to figure out how to get either Mettenberger or Whitehurst going, and to stay consistent throughout the game. Rookie running back Bishop Sankey has shown promise, so getting him the football is a good idea as well. Putting pressure on Bortles is also key, as that could lead to a turnover or two.

Prediction

Both teams are going through quite a tough season so far, but the Jaguars have been showing some promise with Bortles as the starting quarterback. They may not have a win yet, but this is the week for them to break through and pick one up. Tennessee’s issue at quarterback is something that has plagued them much too often in the Locker era, and it will bite them once again this week.

Final Score: Jaguars 24, Titans 21
