Man United target Kevin Strootman worth over $100m
Dutch midfielder and well-known Manchester United transfer target Kevin Strootman has been labelled as not for sale, with Roma owner James Pallotta issuing a hands off warning to the English side.
Strootman has been side-lined since March with a serious knee injury that forced him into missing the World Cup in Brazil. Before then, the physical Dutch midfielder had been building a great reputation with his performances in Serie A with Italian side AS Roma.

His impact in the middle of the field has drawn a great deal of admirers and no doubt former Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal, who is now in charge at Manchester United, will have been aware for a while of the quality Strootman possesses.
However, Roma’s billionaire owner has come out to clarify his stance on Strootman, telling the BBC “”It is just not happening. I have told the papers that they should stop wasting paper. We don’t have any interest in selling Kevin.”
Even a fee of £75 million, which is well in excess of $100 dollars, would apparently not be enough to persuade Roma to sell Strootman. Pallotta continued to explain “”You have to do that, that is the business side. That doesn’t mean you are going to make a decision that [an offer of] £75m, bang you hit the bid. That is not the way it is going to work, it is not the way it does work with us.”
It is clear how highly the club value Strootman and they look set to build their future around players like the 24 year old. It is unclear whether the player himself would even consider a move to the Premier League, with a move to Manchester United hard to resist for any player.
Despite their indifferent season last year, Manchester United are rebuilding under van Gaal and could well return to the Champions League season alongside mounting a serious title charge. It will be interesting to see if this can tempt Strootman away.
