Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Mitch McGary was drafted to try and help the team in the postseason in an area they are sorely lacking. That’s a good thing too, as the rookie is slated to miss the first six weeks of the season.

According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Thunder rookie fractured his left metatarsal and will be out until at least the end of November if not longer.

McGary was once thought to be a lottery pick coming out of Michigan but that all changed when he first got injured and then entered the draft earlier as to avoid a suspension from the NCAA over drug use.
He was thought to have been drafted to help fill the need Oklahoma City has with big men in the playoffs, but his season is going to get off to a silent start. We will no doubt see McGary for large portions this season, but the rookie will have some work to do before he’s in to playing form for the Thunder this year.
