Ole Miss Rebels vs Texas A&M Aggies
Fresh off the Ole Miss victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide for the first time in more than a decade, the Rebels soared to No. 3 in the top 25 polls this week in advance of their Week 7 game against the No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies who are reeling after a blowout loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs last weekend. With both teams on opposite ends of the emotional spectrum this should be an interesting SEC showdown from Kyle Field in College Station.

Keys to Victory
Ole Miss needs to avoid the emotional let down as they hit the road game and avoid falling down early to Kenny Hill and the Aggies who are capable of scoring points in bunches. If Ole Miss comes out with the defensive intensity they have showed all season, especially in the second half against Alabama and quarterback Bo Wallace continues to make smart decisions, the Rebels will be in shape to improve to 6-0 and 3-0 in the SEC.
Texas A&M was highly ineffective against Mississippi State after their opening drive resulted in a touchdown, outside of two late touchdowns, the Aggies only 10 points the middle 50 minutes of the game where the Bulldogs exerted their will on both sides of the ball. The Aggies face the No. 2 scoring defense in the nation one week after their receivers dropped nine passes and the Rebels’ bitter rival may have found the blue print to defend against Hill and this offense.
Last week’s game could have been a lot different had Hill’s receivers held on to the ball. It may sound simple, but as long as they catch the ball, they could sustain longer drives than Alabama was able to muster as they look to get back on the winning track.

Prediction
The Aggies are the slim home favorite and are coming off their worst performance of the season while the Rebels are riding high after their biggest win of a generation and their confidence is at an all-time high. I’m a believer in Wallace, head coach Hugh Freeze and the Rebel defense who has studs at all three levels of defense.
This is a classic matchup of an elite defense against an elite offense, but as we saw last week, that elite offense can be stopped, and I believe the Ole Miss defense is once again the difference with Wallace making just enough plays, especially with wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and tight end Evan Engram to win on the road.
Final Score: Ole Miss: 31, Aggies: 27
