Could a move to first base be in the cards for the returning Alex Rodriguez in 2015 for the Yankees? It’s apparently been discussed.

The New York Yankees fell short of making the playoffs this season, and to make matters a little worse, Derek Jeter has ridden off into the sunset of retirement, ending his Yankee career. However, what some people seem to forget is that Alex Rodriguez will be back next season after serving his season-long suspension.

However, it should not automatically be assumed that he will be taking his spot at third base when he does come back.

No, apparently, A-Rod has had some discussions with manager Joe Girardi about a possible move to first base.

This is something that has been whispered before, but now it’s interesting to see the possibility being pursued a little further. Of course, given his age, a move to first would be beneficial in the long run to the health of Rodriguez, especially when you add in the days off that he will get plus the games that he will only serve as a designated hitter.
