The Denver Broncos believe star pass rusher Von Miller is getting better every day

Von Miller has been eased back into NFL action after undergoing ACL surgery last January, which has had an effect on the Denver Broncos pass rush. After the team brought in DeMarcus Ware to complement Von Miller, many assumed the team would rack up the sacks all year. Instead the team sits in the middle of the league with 11 sacks in four games to date. That’s not a bad rate by any means, but if Von Miller can return to full health, look for that number to skyrocket.

“I think he’s just gotten in better shape,” Broncos coordinator Jack Del Rio said of Miller via ESPN, “he’s recovered from a pretty significant injury and I think each day back, each week back adds to the explosiveness and the strength and his timing and all those things. He’s getting better and better as the year goes on.”

DeMarcus Ware added that even if the production hasn’t been there yet that the effort has. “If you can consistently get to the quarterback and make those plays, you’ll have an opportunity where those bundles come eventually. And you just have to kind of wait it out, but each week you’ve got to get the job done.”

To his end, Von Miller noted that he’s feeling better. “I think we haven’t been what we’re going to be. We just stay in the lab, keep working and the sacks will come. We just want to keep getting around the quarterback and things will happen.”
