Deshaun Watson out for Clemson with injury to throwing hand

Deshaun Watson looks like a future Heisman winner since he was named Clemson’s starting quarterback, but he just left the game vs. Louisville

Clemson Tigers freshman quarterback Deshaun Waton came to the program with the hype surrounding a five-star recruit and one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation and after he was named the starter late in September has justified the hype.

However, Watson had to leave the game against the Louisville Cardinals to head to the locker room with trainers for evaluation after injuring his throwing hand.

Is this something that Watson can tape up and play with to finish the game against Louisville in a crucial ACC showdown against the 5-1 Cardinals? We should find out soon, so stay tuned as this story develops. Update: Watson is out for the game with a hand injury to his throwing hand, according to ESPN’s Joe Schad.  

Watson was 2-of-6 passing for minus-5 yards and an interception in before yielding way to Cole Stoudt who opened the season as the starting quarterback for Dabo Swinney’s team before the team went with Watson following the loss to the Florida State Seminoles.

Clemson holds a 7-3 lead over Louisville courtesy of a 72-yard punt return by Adam Humphries after a three-and-out by the Louisville offense on their first possession.
