The Georgia running backs stepped up in teh absence of Todd Gurley in a big way against Missouri
The shocking suspension to Heisman front-runner Todd Gurley on Thursday evening left the Georgia Bulldogs without their best player and a number of questions leading in to their game against the defending SEC east champion Missouri Tigers, but the way the Bulldogs played on Saturday, they didn’t need Gurley.

Georgia may have the best collection of talent at running back in the nation so their depth was put to the test with Gurley out and they responded well, especially true freshman Nick Chubb who has 38 carries for 143 yards at the time of publishing.
However, the most spectacular play of the game may have come from reserve running back Brendan Douglas who went airborne for this 15-yard touchdown run in the closing seconds of the third quarter to give the Dawgs a 27-0 lead.
Georgia may not get Gurley back this season, but if this game is any indication how they will fare without him, then they passed that test with flying colors.
