Houston Texans not ready to bench Ryan Fitzpatrick
By Josh Hill
Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien needs to figure out his situation at quarterback and so far Ryan Fitzpatrick hasn’t done enough to lost the starting gig he fell into this offseason.
Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t going to be losing his starting gig anytime soon, but it’s not as though his leash is very long. After the loss on Thursday night in which Fitzpatrick’s fumble sealed the loss, fans were calling for a change at the quarterback position.

But while fans are ready to mail it in on Fitzpatrick, the Texans coaching staff are sticking by their man for now.
According to Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans aren’t ready to give up on Ryan Fitzpatrick just yet.
"“He’s our starter,” coach Bill O’Brien said Friday, referring to a 10-year veteran who couldn’t complete a pass during the first quarter against the Indianapolis Colts on national TV Thursday, then locked in for 15-of-23 passing, 212 yards, one touchdown and a 109.3 rating, nearly guiding the Texans to their biggest come-from-behind victory in franchise history."
This is a pretty crucial time for the Texans, as the team needs to find a quarterback to lead them into the future and it’s becoming rather apparent that Fitzpatrick isn’t that guy. He never really was going to be the guy at quarterback in Houston but the losing that is happening may force a change sooner rather than later.
