Marshawn Lynch was cleared of assault accusations stemming from an August incident and now the woman making the complaint faces charges of her own.

The Washington woman who accused Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch in August of assaulting her has been charged with making a false statement to a public servant.

According to the Seattle Times, Jammie Lynn Ficarelli, 31, of Everett, Wash., was charged in King County District Court this week.

Ficarelli had accused Lynch of assaulting her and damaging her purse while in a Bellevue apartment on Aug. 10.

The investigation found that Lynch had been at a hotel about a mile from where the incident occurred and Bellevue police recommended that Ficarelli be charged with making a false or misleading statement.

Ficaralli did have injuries that night, but two witnesses said they were the result of a fall, according to the Bellevue Police Department.

One witness—a man the woman apparently believed was Lynch—said he told her multiple times that he did not play for the Seahawks and Ficarelli told the police that the man never identified himself as Lynch.

According to a police report, Ficarelli said she was sure it was the football player, though:

"“She knew it was him because she is a football fan,” the report read."

Maybe not as big a fan as she thought.

The man she thought was Lynch is 6-foot-2 and weighs 185 pounds. Lynch is 5-foot-11 and weighs 215 pounds.

Ficarelli could face penalties of up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted.

So much for trying to make a buck off a famous football player.
