Beasley tied Michael Dean Perry and the late Gaines Adams with a sack last week against North Carolina State when he also forced a fumble and recovered it for a touchdown and against the Louisville Cardinals, Beasley broke the tie and is now the Clemson all-time sack leader with 29 after getting the sack in the second quarter.

The athletic edge rusher entered the game in a tie for third place with seven sacks so he is moving up the leaderboard and hopes to chase down Utah’s Nate Orchard who has 8.5 after a four-sack performance last week against UCLA.

Beasley had 13 sacks a year ago after his eight-sack season two years ago as a sophomore that launched his career as one of the top pass rushers in college football.

At 6-2, 235-pounds some have wondered if Beasley is large enough to play defensive end in the NFL and his future may come as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 front where he won’t have to go against offensive tackles with much more length, strength and size on the next level.
