Bradley Beal injury update: Washington Wizards fear Beal will be out 6-8 weeks
By Josh Hill
After looking promising last season, the Washington Wizards will begin their 2014-15 campaign without Bradley Beal, who broke his wrist in the preseason and will be out for a month.
The Washington Wizards were the best they’ve been in a while last season, and that had a lot to do with the growth of Bradley Beal and John Wall as the leaders of the team. One half of that duo will be hobbled for the next few weeks, as Beal is going to miss the season opener later this month after apparently breaking his wrist.

Beal’s injury happened in the Wizards’ preseason game this weekend, which makes his injury all the more gruesome to digest for fans. The next order of business is to figue out how long the star will be out, which will determine how freaked out Wizards fans are allowed to be over this. According to David Aldridge from NBA.com, the timetable for Beal’s return seems to be in the 6-8 weeks range.
That’s bad news for the Wizards. Being without Beal for as many as 18 games out of an 82 game season could be the difference between making the postseason or not. The Eastern Conference got really good this year with LeBron James moving back to Cleveland, Kevin Love joining the party and so many other changes made in the conference. Washington was a darling team last year, but they’ll need to be extra great this season to make it all happen again. It’s a road they may have to travel without Beal.
