Carson Palmer will likely start at quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals in week 6, but the situation will remain fluid until close to kickoff.
The Arizona Cardinals were not sure who would be available to play quarterback for them in week 6. For a while it looked like rookie Logan Thomas would be the only guy available as Carson Palmer continued to deal with a nerve issue in his throwing shoulder and Drew Stanton went through the league’s concussion protocol.

The thought of only having Thomas available had to be an unsettling one for head coach Bruce Arians and the rest of the Cardinals. Thomas possesses a lot of raw talent, but he showed that he clearly is not ready for NFL action when he was forced into the lineup against the Denver Broncos last Sunday.
Given the uncertainty at the position, it has to be welcome news for the Cardinals that they will likely have both Palmer and Stanton available for this game. Stanton cleared the concussion protocol and it sounds like Palmer is finally starting to make meaningful progress in “waking up” the dead nerve in his shoulder.
Palmer will get the start, his first since week 1, if he is available. It sounds like that will be the case, according to Adam Schefer.
Bruce Arians does not expect to decide on QB until about 2 hours before kickoff. But Cardinals sources believe Carson Palmer is most likely.

Given the odd nature of the situation up to this point, it would not be surprising if things changed again before kickoff. That might explain why Arians is allowing himself so much time to make this decision. It has to help that Stanton is available in the event that Palmer suddenly cannot go.
This will be a situation to monitor as kickoff approaches.
