Much like running back Demarco Murray and wide receiver Dez Bryant, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys won’t extend head coach Jason Garrett during the season

The Dallas Cowboys have gotten off to a fantastic start.
After losing to the San Francisco 49ers in week one, they have rolled off four straight wins heading into their big road showdown with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Head coach Jason Garrett is obviously doing a very good job this season but his future remains up in the air because he has not gotten a contract extension.
Back in August, Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones did not give Jason Garrett any sort of public vote of confidence and wanted to wait until after the season to discuss an extension.
“Well if I said that, I’d be giving him a contract, and that’s not how we’re operating here,” Jones said via Rainer Sabin of The Dallas Morning News.
“I, in no way, have shut that door. But I have already decided that we were going to operate this year with his contract status the way that it is.”
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com and the NFL Network, Jones feels the same way now.
Wondered if a big win in SEA might trigger extension talks for #Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. Jerry Jones tells me “no.” All after the season

There was also a report that the Cowboys wouldn’t extend the contracts of running back Demarco Murray or wide receiver Dez Bryant during the season either.
At this rate, the Cowboys clearly want to keep all three men in the fold as they are three of the biggest reasons for their success so far. However, they don’t want any of these issues to become a distraction and also may want to see if the Cowboys can continue to play well as the season goes on.
