The New York Giants looked like they were going to come in and give the Philadelphia Eagles problems on Sunday night. After all, the St. Louis Rams almost came back to beat the Eagles last week, so how hard could it be for a team trying to contend to make a run at the Eagles.

Apparently, it was a lot harder than the Giants thought as they not only lost to the Eagles but failed to score a single point in the process. It was another embarrassing showing by a Giants team still wildly unsure of who they are and where they are going this season.

Right now, their direction is down, as the team is now 3-3 and in danger of falling out of the NFC East race which now features two 5-1 teams at the top of the standings. The shocking win by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday puts both the Eagles and Cowboys at 5-1 on the season and at each others throats for the lead in the division.

Nick Foles had another mediocre game, throwing for just two touchdowns in a game where his team scored 27 points. It wouldn’t be all that bad if Foles hadn’t also tossed two interceptions as well, something tat has become a bit of a problem for the second year starter.

Still, the Eagles came away with the win and are now one of the best teams in the NFL. Their 5-1 record is only matched by a few other teams, and it’s clear that the Eagles are much better than we thought they were. They are still a wildly incomplete team, but they’ve won five of their first six games which isn’t something to just sneeze at.
