On a hot day in Miami, the Green Bay Packers got off to a hot start, capping an 80-yard opening drive with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson.

The Green Bay Packers aren’t used to hot weather, so temperatures in the upper 80s and high humidity in Miami are not familiar elements.

But the Packers got off to a start as hot as the weather against the Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium, taking the opening kickoff and marching 80 yards in nine plays to take a 7-0 lead on Aaron Rodgers’ 9-yard touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson.

It’s Nelson’s fifth touchdown catch of the season. He came in as Green Bay’s leading receiver with 34 catches in 52 targets for 525 yards.

Rodgers is off to a solid start this season. He comes into this week as the second-highest rated passer in the NFL with a passer rating of 114.8.

He’s completing 66.7 percent of his throws for 1,155 yards and 12 touchdowns against just one interception.

Rodgers became the second-fastest quarterback to throw for 200 career touchdowns when he hit the milestone in Green Bay’s win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers reached the milestone in his 99th career game. Only Dan Marino got their faster, reaching 200 TD tosses in his 89th career game.
