Jordan Reed will be back in action for the Washington Redskins as they take on the Arizona Cardinals in a week 6 match-up.

Tight end Jordan Reed can be a significant weapon for the Redskins’ offense, especially in the ways that he can help backup quarterback Kirk Cousins by getting open over the middle of the field.

The problem in his short career has been Reed’s health. He missed chunks of the 2013 season with a concussion and has played just one game so far in 2014. At issue most recently has been Reed’s hamstring.

There is good news for the Redskins and Cousins on Sunday, as Reed has finally been cleared to return to the lineup.

It sounds like Reed could have played last week if the Redskins wanted to force the issue. They were wise not to, and this should give them an even stronger chance that he is back at 100% and can remain in the lineup moving forward.

This could be a nice week to get Reed heavily involved in the game plan right away, as the Cardinals have notoriously struggled to defend opposing tight ends in recent seasons.

Reed had just one catch for four yards in the opening game of the 2014 season. Last year he played nine games and posted 45 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns. The Redskins could have a potent offensive attack with him working in the middle of the field and weapons like Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson working on the outside.
