When Buzz Williams made the decision that shocked a lot of people by choosing to leave the Marquette Golden Eagles to become the head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies, we were all intrigued to watch how he builds this program back up. Well on Sunday we found out that Williams is having little trouble selling the Hokies on the recruiting trail as they landed a commitment from three-star point guard Justin Robinson.
Robinson is a 6-1, 170-pound point guard out of Manassas, Virginia, and he has chosen the Hokies over other offers from Providence and UNLV. He also had an offer on the table from Maryland a few months ago, however they dropped out of his recruitment.
Ultimately, though, Robinson landed with Williams and Virginia Tech and this is a good sign for Hokies fans. The hope is that Williams can eventually make Virginia Tech a legitimate contender in the ACC, and doing work like this on the recruiting trail is certainly a good start in accomplishing that mission.
