The annual match up between the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers is usually one of the biggest games of the year.

This season, both teams entered unranked. Florida was 3-1, having been blown out by the Alabama Crimson Tide in their only real test while the Tigers came in with two losses and were destroyed by the Auburn Tigers 41-7 last week.

Many thought we could be in for a dud of a game but instead both the Gators and Tigers delivered.

Trailing 20-17 in the fourth quarter, Jeff Driskel found Demarcus Robinson for an 11-yard touchdown to put the Gators up 24-20. On the next drive, the Tigers converted a third-and-25 when Anthony Jennings found a wide-open Travin Dural. They finished the drive by hooking up again on an 11-yard touchdown toss, making it 27-24 Tigers. On the next play from scrimmage, Driskel hit Robinson for a 73-yard. The Gators, however, couldn’t punch it in – Tevin Westbrook dropped a sure touchdown on third down – and they settled for a field goal to tie.

The Gators then forced a three-and-out and got the ball back when disaster struck. Driskel made a poor decision and had his pass intercepted by Rickey Jefferson, who returned it 23 yards. After one running play, Colby Delahoussaye, who missed an extra point earlier in the game, hit a 50-yard field goal to give the Tigers a 30-27 victory.
