Just like we all predicted in August, right? We saw this coming, didn’t we? We all knew before the season started that by Week 8 of the college football season, the Mississippi State Bulldogs would have defeated Texas A&M and Auburn back-to-back, thus making them the No. 1 team in the AP Poll with just a few weeks left in the season.
No, we didn’t see it coming, however that’s where we’re at after Sunday. For the first time in the illustrious history of the school, the Bulldogs are officially the No. 1 team in the country, so says the new rankings that were released heading into Week 8.

You can’t deny the fact that this team is the best that college football has to offer right now. They not only won those two big games two weeks in a row, but they won them both in somewhat convincing fashion. Had they not made some crucial mistakes after jumping out to a 21-0 lead, the scoreboard for the Auburn Tigers could have looked a lot worse in the end.
Now the question turns to whether or not Dak Prescott and the Bulldogs cane keep up this momentum and finish the year unblemished, earning a chance to play in the inaugural College Football Playoff.
What do you think? Can the Bulldogs ride out the rest of the season as the top team in the country? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
