4. Asdrubal Cabrera, Washington Nationals

Age: 28

2014 Statistics: .241/.307/.387, 14HR, 61RBI

Cabrera is good choice. He’s a two-time All-Star for one thing. I like him for pretty much any team. However, both his offensive skills and defensive skills rank just a bit above average. He has a career slashline of .268/.330/.409. He began the 2014 season with the Cleveland Indians and eventually ended up on the Washington Nationals. Unfortunately for Cabrera his batting average only declined with the move and he hit just .229 for the Nationals in the second part of the season.

Defensively he’s solid because he is still just 28 years old but upon going to the Nationals many agreed that he is better suited to be a second baseman. Cabrera would prefer to find a team where he can move back into the shortstop position and he just might with the need and shortage of free agents. Then again he might have to settle for staying at secondbase since the consensus around the league is that is where he should be playing regularly.
