Wallace led the Rebels to two touchdowns in the first quarter with the feet of the Rebel quarterback leading Ole Miss to a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter as Wallace scored on runs of four and 10 yards, respectively.

Ole Miss entered the game with the No. 2 scoring defense and that defense completely dominated former Heisman candidate Hill and limited the Aggies offense all night long. The defense even got involved in the scoring as All-American safety Cody Prewitt took an interception back 75 yards for a touchdown at the beginning of the second quarter to give Ole Miss a commanding 21-0 lead that would stand at halftime.

The Aggies came out in the second half and promptly marched down the field for a 14-play scoring drive that culminated with a three-yard rushing touchdown from Trey Williams to trim the deficit to 21-7.
