Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart is still out with a knee injury, while the Bengals will be without wide receiver A.J. Green, who injured his toe last week at New England.
The Panthers and Bengals are leading their respective divisions coming in; Carolina’s 3-2 mark leaves it as the only team over .500 in the NFC South, while Cincinnati is 3-1 and a half-game ahead of the Ravens and Steelers in the AFC North entering play Sunday.
Carolina is also missing running back DeAngelo Williams. In last week’s come-from-behind win over the Bears, Darrin Reaves started, but had just 35 yards on 11 carries.
Green is a primary target for Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton—tied for the team lead with 26 targets and 17 receptions this season. His 314 receiving yards leads the Bengals and his two receiving touchdowns are tied with Mohamed Sanu for the team lead.
This is the first game Green—a Pro Bowler in each of his three seasons—has missed since he sat out a loss at Baltimore in Week 11 of the 2011 season.
