Peyton Manning throws TD pass number 506 to Julius Thomas.

Peyton Manning and Julius Thomas are up to their old tricks again. Manning hooked up with Thomas for their second touchdown of the day on this four yard pass.

This is Thomas’s ninth touchdown reception in just five games this season. In fact, Thomas has 24 catches. Nine are for touchdowns. That is a great ratio.

Their second hookup of the day put the Broncos up 24-7 on the New York Jets halfway through the third quarter.

As for the one throwing the touchdowns, Peyton Manning is now just two touchdown passes away from tying Brett Favre for the NFL record in touchdown passes at 508. While Manning may not break the record today, he would be a lock to do it next week against the San Francisco 49ers.

Then again, the Jets seem hell-bent on giving Manning the record today. They just can’t seem to keep Julius Thomas from getting open. Then again, very few have been able to do that. Thomas has caught a touchdown in every game so far.

Thomas also has 21 touchdown catches since the beginning of last season. That is the most in the NFL over that span.
