Ray Allen may end up calling it a career after 18 years in the NBA but is he decides to return, there’s always a warm bed in Milwaukee for him to come home to.

Ray Allen has a big decision on his hands, as he has to decide whether or not he wants to come back for a 19th season in the NBA. Already the Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged as frontrunners to sign Allen but they’re not along intheir pursuit of him.

According to J. Michael of CSNWashington.com, the Wizards are among six teams to have made a pitch to Ray Allen about coming back for a 19th season. The strangest team in the mix — the Milwaukee Bucks.

"Six teams have actually contacted his reps since he became an unrestricted free agent — the Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder and …. the Milwaukee Bucks. Yes, the latter is not a mistake. Allen spent the first six-plus seasons of his career in Milwaukee, and the franchise’s pitch was a chance to end things where they began. Creative and worth a shot? Yes. Did it work? No."

It’s hard to say that the Bucks are ‘in the mix’ though, as they’re not going to be contenders this season and if Allen comes back, it will be with a team that gives him the best chance to win the NBA Finals and retire on top. There’s still a rather distinct possibility that Allen doesn’t ever come back to the NBA, as he may end up retiring and calling it a career.

The far more likely option sees Allen waiting until midseason, picking out the best team at that point in time and signing with them. That team will more than likely end up being the Cleveland Cavaliers, but there are five other teams making pitches and at least four of them will be serious contenders towards the end of the season.
