Arizona Diamondbacks expected to name Chip Hale manager
By Ed Carroll
The Arizona Diamondbacks are expected to name Chip Hale as the team’s new manager, and the former Oakland Athletics bench coach will reportedly have a two-year deal in the desert.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly settled on a manager to replace Kirk Gibson, who was fired last month. Chip Hale, the Oakland Athletics bench coach, will reportedly be hired as manager of the Snakes:

Hale finished out the season with the A’s, whose year was cut short by the Kansas City Royals in the Wild Card game. It’s Hale’s first big-league managing gig, though he was
a finalist for the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets’ managers jobs in recent years.
Hale was also interviewed for the Minnesota Twins vacant manager job, though he reportedly cancelled a second interview with the Twins to focus on getting the Arizona job, which is a homecoming of sorts for him:
Hale is the latest new hire in a mostly-fresh Diamondbacks management office; Chief Baseball Officer Tony La Russa was hired in May, and he replaced former general manager Kevin Towers with new GM Dave Stewart last month, shortly after firing Gibson as manager.
