However, Sproles just might avoid missing any future games. Philly is on a bye in Week 7 and Eagles coach Chip Kelly did not rule out Sproles for the team’s Week 8 contest against the Arizona Cardinals.
From Tim McManus of phillymag.com:
"“He’s got an MCL sprain,” said . “We’ll see how long it’s going to be. Could be a week or two. Could be back after…we have a week off, so he’ll get treatment and we’ll assess him when we get back next Tuesday.” Chip Kelly"
Still, this far from means that Sproles is a lock to be back for the Cardinals game. In fact, many, such as Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly, have reported the injury is expected to keep the running back sidelined for multiple weeks.
Sproles has rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns this season, his first in Philadelphia. He has also caught 16 passes for 198 yards.
As the numbers indicate, Sproles has been a major part of the Eagles’ offense this season and the team will surely feel his absence if he is forced to miss time.
