Michel Therrien is displeased with the referee call during Montreal’s matchup against Tampa Bay

Michel Therrien, the head coach for the Montreal Canadiens, might be one of my favorite coaches in the history of hockey. Where Joel Quenneville always looks like he’s thirty seconds away from pulling out a pistol and firing onto the ice (then driving away in his RR Phantom) and Darryl Sutter always toes that line between incapacitated and simply half-asleep, Michel Therrien seems to have very little merit other than speaking Quebecois and having an unwavering loyalty for his team.

Patrick Roy is changing up all his lines and complaining that his players don’t look fancy enough, and Dave Tippett is benching Mike Smith one game into the season. Therrien, on the other hand, will never accept that his players are anything less than perfect. He’s like that mom who used to storm up to the middle school and demand that teachers get fired for handing their child failing grades on spelling tests or making them run extra laps in Phys. Ed.

In the picture tweeted above, Therrien is arguing a call (or, should I say, lack thereof) made during the Montreal Canadiens- Tampa Bay Lightning game Monday evening. Keep doing you, Therrien. I wish my own mother had the kind of unwavering faith in me that you have in Brendan Gallagher and Carey Price.
