A kicker from the Dayton Flyers recovered a fumble on his own kickoff and returned it for a touchdown.
William Will probably expected to play his entire college career without getting a whiff of a touchdown. After all, he’s the kicker for the University of Dayton football team. How many chances would he really get to find pay dirt outside of a field goal attempt?
Well, he got one chance in a recent game against Marist and he had no problem cashing that opportunity in for his first collegiate touchdown run.

Will might have reached his peak as a collegiate athlete with that play. The improbability of the return stands out simply because of the bounce and the placement of the kicker.
We also have to assume this isn’t something that could happen in the NFL because the kicker is much slower relative to everyone else on the field. At least in this video, Will looks like a pretty legit athlete, but who knows what speed can be found on the Marist special teams return unit.
Regardless of the level of competition, it’s a heck of an effort and great awareness for a guy to be able to get deep enough to scoop up a fumble and take it to the house.
