Jerry Jones is obsessed with a quarterback he could have drafted but didn’t, and now ‘people who count’ are telling him to move on.
Dallas Cowboys owner and dictator Jerry Jones loves himself some Johnny Football — home cooked Texas quarterbacking at it’s finest. But rather than feat on Manziel during the draft when he was very much available, Jones passed at the behest of the devil standing on his shoulder at the time.
Since then, Jones has been like that guy who never shuts up about his ex-girlfriend and what she must be up to nowadays. After the Cowboys’ win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Jones talked about Johnny Manziel for what should be the last time but probably won’t be.
"“Well, I don’t know how that’s relevant,” said Jones, who turned 72 on Monday. “I’m really not so sure I’m ready to admit a mis-thought. It is not relevant, and I really have had some very stern, succinct instructions not to mention Johnny anymore from people who count. Let me put it like that.”"
Man, Jerry Jones really had a hankering for Johnny Manziel. So far though, the Cowboys have won more games than the Cleveland Browns and Brian Hoyer has won more games than Johnny Manziel. Deductive reasoning seems to suggest Jerry Jones has nothing to be upset about.
Still, Jerry Jones is a man who gets what he wants and when he doesn’t, well the world is just going to have to hear about it until people who count tell him to shut up.
