LeBron James has returned to Cleveland, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be playing every single game this season.
When LeBron James decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, there was a certain amount of excitement attached to that. But what wasn’t attached was a commitment to play every single minute of every single game.
In fact, LeBron isn’t expected to play every single game and he’s cashing in on that pretty early. According to Cavaliers beat writer Chris Haynes, LeBron James is going to be sitting out tonight’s preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio added some silver lining to LeBron not playing tonight and electing to rest instead.
Good news for Cincinnati fans of Cavs: LeBron James to sit out tonight's game at The Q vs Bucks. Expected to play Weds at Xavier vs Pacers.

LeBron was rumored to be resting anyways and this just confirms that. There is nothing wrong with the best player in basketball sitting out a preseason game and you can fully expect him to rest in the regular season too.
That’s not to suggest LeBron is mailing it in with the Cavaliers, but he’s not here to be a show pony either. He came back to Cleveland to win titles and if he needs to rest at certain times to do that — like an old man going up the stairs — then who are we to tell him he can’t do what he needs to in order to achieve his goals.
