The Oregon Ducks are slated to host the Washington Huskies this weekend at Autzen Stadium in a
showdown Saturday. Now sitting back in the top ten, and owners of a 5-1 record, the Ducks will look to add another tally in the win column, and they will do so as they always do, in style.
This weekend however, it won’t just be another flashy uniform that Ducks fans have come to love, instead it will have a little more significance. With the Huskies coming into town, Oregon wanted to remind their opponent of “The Pick.”

20 years ago, Kenny Wheaton, a freshman, picked off Damon Huard and took it to the house to upset the 5-1 and #9 ranked Washington Huskies. While the rivalry was much more heated back in 1994, the Ducks have reeled off 10 straight wins against Washington and they are looking to make it 11.
With Marcus Mariota having his eyes on a Heisman trophy and the Ducks finding themselves in renewed position to make the first ever College Football Playoff, the match up should be as exciting as ever.
After a convincing win over UCLA last weekend, the Ducks vaulted back into the top ten. With other top teams falling, they once again find themselves in control of their own destiny. Should Oregon win out, a berth to the first playoff would likely be awaiting them.
Getting Stanford at Autzen Stadium on a down year for the Cardinal is big, and the Ducks have a favorable schedule from here on out. Look for Mark Helfrich and his squad to assert dominance once again this weekend, despite Washington’s 5-1 record, and roll to a victory.
