The New York Rangers lost again and Henrik Lundqvist continued to struggle.
After appearing in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals last season, the New York Rangers had aspirations of taking the next step this season and winning the Cup. Last postseason, the Rangers were led by goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who stood on his head and led the Rangers throughout the playoffs and into the Stanley Cup.
The Rangers were overmatched by a better Los Angeles Kings team, but Lundqvist’s outstanding goal keeping gave the blue shirts a fighters chance in the series. Lundqvist had always been known as a great goalie, but last seasons performance in the playoffs etched his name as the best goalie in the NHL without question.

Lundqvist hasn’t continued his success into this season so far. The Rangers goalie has been beaten more than he ever has and After giving up 6 goals to the Islanders tonight, he gave up 5 or more goals in consecutive starts for the first time in his career. It’s rare for Lundqvist to have one off night, but for him to have two off game’s in a row is awfully concerning to the Rangers.
The Rangers next game is against the Carolina Hurricanes and they will look to get their second win of the season and get Henrik Lundqvist back on track. Lundqvist is as good as they come, don’t expect his struggles to last much longer.
