Daniels’s father reported the news that his son will explore other options via Twitter.

Notre Dame announced last week that it would not make the findings of the five player’s hearings public. It was up to the players whether they wanted their punishments to be part of the public record or not.

Fellow players KeiVarae Russell and Ishaq Williams will not play this year as they were also suspended, but both are hoping to return to the university next season. There has been no word from Eilar Hardy or Kendall Moore, the two other players that were suspended.

Daniels was the leading receiver for the Fighting Irish last season, hauling in 49 passes for 745 yards and seven touchdowns. The senior finished his career at North Dame with 80 catches for 1,235 yards and seven touchdowns.

He also took to Twitter to tell of his plans for the future:

Daniels would have the option to return next fall, but that does not seem likely in light of his and his father’s Tweets. It seems more likely that Daniels will start preparing for a shot at the NFL.
