The Baltimore police department must pay up to the Kansas City police department.

More from Baltimore Orioles

The Kansas City Royals topped the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, which means the Royals are headed to the World Series for the first time since 1985.

It also means that theKansas City police department is the winner of a bet with the Baltimore PD.   The two engaged in a friendly bet on who would win the American League Championship series and KC’s win on Wednesday sealed the deal for its hometown police.

Now, the Baltimore PD must send the Kansas City PD one of Maryland’s greatest treats, crab cakes.

One has to feel great for the Royals players at this moment. They were down to their last few outs in the American League Wild Card game and now are in the World Series without having lost a playoff game.

At the same time, one has to feel good for the Kansas City police department as well. Crab cakes are delicious and this bet is an enormous win for them.
