This year’s World Golf Hall of Fame class includes two familiar names: Mark O’Meara and Laura Davies. They will be joined by golf architect A.W. Tillinghast and former major champion David Graham as they are inducted into the hall in Scotland next summer.
O’Meara, a two-time major winner and 16-time winner on the PGA Tour, is probably the best-known inductee. He is finally getting his due for a solid career with sustained success, and it sounds like he appreciates the recognition. As passed along by Golfchannel.com, here is what O’Meara had to say about his induction into the Golf Hall of Fame:
"“It means the world to me. I guess it was just a matter of time of waiting. Now that it’s come true, it’s really a dream come true for me. Nothing could put more icing on the cake for myself or my career than to have this moment come to fruition.”"
Davies was a 20-time winner on the LPG Tour, including four majors of her own. Graham won two majors in his career. There are certainly plenty of career accomplishments and accolades heading into the World Golf Hall of Fame next July with this group.
