Flops are usually reserved for soccer and the NBA but Cardinals’ catcher A.J. Pierzynski did his best to bring it to the baseball diamond during this evening’s NCLS game.

The only reason A.J. Pierzynski is playing tonight is because Yadier Molina’s oblique isn’t healed enough to allow him to start behind the dish for the Cardinals. We can all thank Yadier later for this gem.

Travis Ishikawa stepped to the plate for the Giants in Game 4 and this was the result:

A.J. has always been a controversial character wherever he goes in MLB, but this flop might take the cake.

More from MLB

From the dropped third strike during the White Sox run tothe World Series in 2005 to being punched out by Cubs’ catcher Michael Barrett, A.J. is not afraid to mix it up a bit. The well-traveled catcher also isn’t afraid to speak his mind to reporters, either.

Sit back and enjoy some other great flops compliments of the NBA and the world of soccer as well:

Does A.J.’s flop top the others? You be the judge. Flopping in baseball. Never thought I would see that.

Thanks A.J.
