Michael Bennett and the rest of the Seattle Seahawks are finding it’s a different challenge to navigate an NFL regular season schedule as the defending Super Bowl champs.

Defensive end Michael Bennett thinks opposing teams are focused when they prepare to play the Seahawks this season. Like, really focused. And Bennett isn’t afraid to get personal with his theory about what’s going on. From 710 ESPN in Seattle:
"“It’s a lot different. People want to play you…They probably don’t have sex for the week, probably eat all the right things, they probably do everything right that week. It’s like, ‘We’re playing the Seahawks. No, baby, not tonight. Maybe Sunday night.’ But that’s just how it is.”"
Well then.
It’s not that any team was scared of the Seahawks in the past. OK, so maybe they were a little scared. But such as these things go for the defending champs, teams are more fired up than ever when they play Seattle this season. And if Bennett is to be believed, they set everything aside the week of the game. Everything.
Teams have punched back a little bit more this season, with the Seahawks already having two losses on their record and another close call in an overtime win over the Broncos. This past weekend saw them chased off the field by the Dallas Cowboys and a steady running game.
As the Seahawks see teams step up to their level more often this season, particularly in the physical aspects of the game, they are seeing a difference. That is something that defensive lineman Michael Bennett spoke to in quite his own way this week.
